In a drum dryer a feed containing dissolved solids or slurry carrying suspended solids is poured or gets adhered on the outside surface of a rotating drum and forms a thin layer. The rotation of the drum is adjusted in such a way that the moisture in the feed gets vaporized and a dried thin layer will be scraped off with the help of an adjustable knife in the form of flakes or powder depending on the nature of the dried product. The product gets dried after water / solvent gets evaporated due to internal heating of the drum. The selection of feed mechanisms depends on properties and nature of feed solution.

 

·  Heating drums and other feed contact parts: They can be decided as per constituent  properties of feed product & choice of end user.

 

·  Material of construction of contact parts: Carbon steel, SS 304, SS 316, SS 316 L (Optionally chrome plated)

 

·  Heating Drum Sizes: 0.5 Sq.Mtr to 30 Sq.Mtr.

 

·  Type of Feed Mechanisms:

Single Drum Dryer- Bottom Dip Feed

Single Drum Dryer- Bottom Applicator Roller

Single Drum Dryer- Overhead Applicator Roller

·  Scrapper Blade arrangement: Manual hand wheel / Pneumatic / Hydraulics

 

·  Scrapper Blade MOC: Phosphor Bronze, Harden Steel , Brass , Food Grade Teflon and others

·  Product Collection: Post drying of the feed material the flakes can be collected via product collection chute or hopper or gets discharged via lump breaker /screw conveyor discharge outlet which can  be  directly  filled into drums orbags.

 

·  Compliance: We can manufacture the drum dryer equipment as per GMP and Food grade compliant in case specific requirement from customer.
