The Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter consists of a Horizontal Cylindrical shell with special bayonet wedged lock – closure with Seal. The filter shell is mounted on sturdy structural column. The retraction of shell and opening/closing of bayonet lock is accomplished by hydraulic cylinder. All sensitive nozzles are mounted on fixed dish and no need to disconnect any piping during shell opening closing operation in case of shell retraction.

 

The pressure leaf filter consists of central outlet manifold and filter elements are mounted on the replacement type manifold with 100/125mm (C/C) spacing for better cleaning cycle.

 

The filter elements consists of 5 layers of Filter mesh with bottom drain nozzles are mounted on central outlet manifold & clamped with two common shaft on top for fixing leaves. Once the filtration is completed the residual feed below the filter elements has to be drained through the drain nozzles & filtered cake is dried with air. The Pneumatic Vibrator has to be operated to loosen up the Cake by creating a slight crack and dislodged manually by wooden spatula by scrapping after retraction of Shell. In case of any layer of cake left over the same has to be manually scraped by wooden spatula. Cake can be collected through mobile Tray or screw conveyor at the bottom.In case of wet discharge a fixed type or oscillating type header is provided on top of the filter leaves assembly.

The opening/closing mechanism of horizontal leaf filter is as follows:

 

1. Lower Guide Support type shell retraction: The filter leaf is stationary and fixed with the dish, shell retracts To & Fro for opening/closing with the help of bottom guide rollers.

 

2. Upper Guide Support type shell retraction: The filter leaf is stationary and fixed with the dish, shell retracts To & Fro for opening/closing with the help of upper guide rollers.

 

3. Upper Guide Support type leaf bundle retraction: The shell is stationary and fixed, , filter leaf with the dish retracts To & Fro for opening/closing with the help of upper guide rollers.

 

4. Conjunction / Tandem type: In this type of the mechanism two shell retraction or leaf bundle retraction horizontal pressure leaf filters are mounted on a single structure which helps in saving the floor print in case of space constraint.
